Abbot Ale

Sturdy medium-bodied, ample crispness ...

Appearance:

Deep golden bronze color brew, lots of tiny bubbles for a thin yet creamy off-white lace.

Smell:
Light alcoholic esters, fruity of pears and plums and an unshakable caramel with buttery diacetyl to boot. Very aromatic, creamy to the nose lots of malt in the aroma.

Taste:
Sturdy medium-bodied, ample crispness with a lot of help from the semi-aggressive carbonation. Mouth feel goes quickly to smooth as soon as the malt kicks in. Malt sweetness with solid fruit, hop bitterness with faint hints of peach and mango. Alcohol comes though middle to end with a slight warming sensation. Hop bitterness and a bitty grain wrap things up with a residual sweetness that sticks around forever.

Notes:
A big summer ale to say the least, hell if you are going to do it-do it up right, no pansy light summer lemon grains of paradise fru fru seasonal here. This is a flat out kick-ass amber ale that does not hold back, somewhat close to an old style German Altbier. Perfect with a spicy bbq!

Beer Type: (Special) Best Bitter
