Appearance:
Rich vibrant yellow with golden overtones, clarity is nearly seamless. Big fat cake-like head floats on top of the brew like a lily pad with the cover around the glass in a sea foam sprayed sticky lace.
Smell:
Huge citric oil hop aroma, malt is barely traceable amongst the heavy hop smell. Smells of citrus rind and fresh blooming flowers.
Taste:
Medium body, smooth and creamy mouth feel with a strong and flexing pungent hop. Flowery and citrus flavors engulf the mouth and fume out the nose with the hidden alcoholic esters. Malt flavor is nearly present but then fades into a sleepy hop daydream. Pungent and puckering in the finish.
Notes:
Hops. Hops. Hops. This beer does not even give you a chance to get ready or recover -- some might say “out of balance” but hop heads might say "just enough." Absolutely a kicker of a west coast IPA.
