Appearance:
Light coppery colored lager. Thick and creamy head of off white foam of a mainly small bead.
Smell:
Fresh clover honey, caramel and a malt sweetness emanate encouragingly in the nose.
Taste:
Surprisingly light in body. Caramel sponge bar melts into clover honey on sweetish palate. Sweet and thinning in the middle. Hop bitterness not noticeable. An abbreviated finish has sweetish malt melding with caramel and honey flavors, all of which just thins right out and vanishes.
Notes:
Promise of nose not delivered in this sweetish entrant that is thin and bordering on watery in the end. Faxe Amber was introduced in 2001 as an anniversary beer 100 years after Faxe was founded. FaxeBrew.com
