Did a chick flick take box office #1 for the second week in a row, did Indy claw back to the top, or did a certain Panda fight to #1? I doubt anyone messed with The Zohan, so how did the weekend numbers break down?
Well, by no small measure, Kung Fu Panda took the #1 spot at the box office, edging out Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow's Zohan flick by $20 MILLION, proving that a couple of weeks without a kid's movie and the heat drove families to the air-conditioned sanctuaries of the googolplex.

Kung Fu Panda got my hard-earned cash this weekend as well, with a last-minute coin-flip determining between it and Zohan. Here at the office we're getting mixed reviews of Zohan, but come back later today for my honest opinion about Kung Fu Panda.
1. Kung Fu Panda $60 MILLION
2. The Zohan $40 MILLION
3. Indy 4 $22.8 MILLION
4. Sex and the City $21.3 MILLION
5. The Strangers $9.2 MILLION
As you can see, the annoying broads from Sex and the City dropped from #1 to #4, proving that chick flicks have no lasting power. In a not-so-surprising turn, Iron Man still sits in the top 10, comfortable at #6 with $7.5 MILLION made this weekend alone.
