The Controversy Continues

Even after changing the name of his album, Nas keeps finding ways to stir the pot.

As Nas' album continues to approach its release date the controversy it is causing continues to increase. Even after Nas dropped the original album title, "Ni**er", the album just can't stop causing problems. Not saying Nas isn't to blame for all the controversy his album is creating, because what can you expect when you use such a touchy word out in the open like he is.

Even though he dropped the word from his album title, it is still very present in the title of his first single off the album "Be a Ni**er Too." Nas just dropped the video for the song, which is more of a short film at 8:40, and it is sure to get people talking.

Personally, I don't think the song is anything bad, and I think if you listen to it carefully you would understand the message behind it. Too many people are trying to accuse Nas of being racist or trying to spread hate, but even though he uses a plethora of racial terms in this song, the message he is trying to send is simple: that everyone is equal.

Maybe it's time for people to worry less about the words people are using, and more about the meaning behind them.
